About Me
Aisha Maiwada Ahmad is a distinguished Nigerian agricultural economist and educator with a robust academic and professional background. Born on January 23, 1983, she has dedicated her career to enhancing agricultural practices and financial literacy among smallholder farmers and rural communities in Nigeria.
Aisha earned PhD. in Agricultural Economics with Specialization in livelihood and natural resource economics, Master of Science (MSc.) in Agricultural Economics from Bayero University, Kano, in 2025 and 2015. Prior to this, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from Hands on Institute of Information Technology (HIIT), Kano, in 2011, and a Bachelor of Agriculture from Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano, between 2007 and 2010. She began her academic journey with a National Certificate of Education (NCE) from Kano State College of Education Kumbotso, Kano, between 1999 and 2002.
Aisha currently serves as a Lecturer I in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Management at the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano, Nigeria. In this capacity, she imparts knowledge to National Diploma and Higher National Diploma students on subjects including Introduction to Rural Sociology, Extension Teaching Methods, Extension Administration Management and Supervision, Farm Business Organisation, Extension Cooperative Management, Introduction to Contract Farming, Agricultural value chain, Farmers Financial Management, Agribusiness value chain, and Agricultural Marketing.
Aisha is committed to continuous professional development, having attended numerous trainings, workshops, seminars, and conferences. These include the "Capacity Development Programme for Lecturers and Managers of Green Colleges" in 2023, "Training of Trainers on Agricultural Business Analysis and Investment Training" in 2022, and "Training on Weather Forecast" in 2016 among other. Her dedication to professional growth underscores her commitment to excellence in agricultural education and financial literacy.
